5 Healthy Fundraisers

You don’t just want your fundraisers to be effective - you also want them to be good for all parties involved. One way of doing this is by doing healthy fundraisers, whether they’re physically healthy or environmentally friendly. They’re not just great for the body and the environment, but also for your peace of mind - and everyone else’s.

Sell flower bulbs.

Selling flower bulbs will provide your group with a nice profit - and your supporters with bulbs of magnificent flowers in a rainbow of vibrant colors.
The colorful, premier-quality blossoms - including lilies, daffodils, freesia, orchids, and tulips - are guaranteed to bloom. Both our packages of flower bulbs include lilies and anemone, and each has many different bulbs besides - your supporters can choose from 24 items in the Nature in Bloom brochure and 28 in the Art in Nature brochure. Our flower-bulb fundraisers are free to start, so get started today! You might even be able to make selling flower bulbs an annual fundraiser for your group.

Sell Dodo Bags.

Reusable bags are a great replacement for plastic grocery bags, but many of them break easily. Solve this problem by selling Dodo Bags to your supporters - they're so durable, your supporters will want to keep these bags for years and years. They'll save your supporters a lot of money, rather than forcing them to buy new reusable bags every few months as they break time and time again.

Dunk one (or many!) of your group members in a baked bean bath.

Wanna do a baked bean bath -a fundraiser that’s both healthy and disgusting? Have your group member(s) lie in a tub filled with baked beans for as long as they can, with supporters sponsoring them for every minute they stew in the soup. An old tub works best, and ask your group members (and their families) for help with your “supplies” - you’re going to need a lot of beans!

Host a safari supper.

The safari supper is a simple but ingenious fundraiser: you invite guests to accompany you from one restaurant to another, eating a different course at each - appetizer, main course, salad, fruit, dessert, and coffee.

Ask for the restaurant staff to serve your supporters their healthiest food (check the restaurant’s website), which, if possible, is made from local, organic products. If you can’t find enough restaurants - or healthy enough restaurants -consider having your group members hold the different courses at their houses.

Hold a benefit concert with vegetable instruments.

Bet you’ve never heard a band like this before! The Vegetable Orchestra is known around the world for - believe it or not - playing music with vegetables rather than typical brass and wood instruments. Do like the Vegetable Orchestra and have your group members display their skill with musical vegetables in a benefit concert. Be original: the vegetable instruments all create different sounds, so don’t be afraid to experiment! Since pitching will be difficult, have your group perform rhythm-based pieces. Turns out the old song “Beans, Beans, the Musical Fruit” is truer than you ever realized!

To make fundraising better for everyone, hold healthy fundraisers, like selling flower bulbs and Dodo Bags, dunking group members in a baked bean bath, hosting a safari supper, and holding a benefit concert with vegetable instruments. Let’s raise our glasses to better health for everyone!
