Dear JustFundraising Member,
Following the remembrance of our veterans for Memorial Day,
we look ahead to the celebration of our fathers for Father's
Day. Many members of your community work together at building
fundraising campaigns, and dad's make a huge contribution. They
work as coaches, clergy, teachers, and offer overall support
to all. Happy Father's Day!

| Behind Family History
An interesting theme to help celebrate Father's Day with
your loved ones… The origin of your family genealogy usually
begins with a look at your surname, usually passed on
from your father. But how did these names come to be?
Historically, surnames originated in Europe over a thousand
years ago. They were given most often due to necessity.
For example, a village containing several people using
the same given name had to be given unique status. If
there were six Johns living in a small town, certain recognition
had to be given to one person over another. Hence, the
birth of the surname.
Here are some examples of surname origins:
|
5
Main Naming Categories |
| 1-
Name of the father |
EX-
Johnson or MacDonald: meaning son of Donald.
|
| 2-
Occupation |
EX-
Baker/ Blacksmith: meaning one who
works as a baker or blacksmith. |
| 3-Locality
|
EX-
DuPont: meaning one who resides near a
bridge. |
| 4-Physical
Characteristics |
EX-
Brown/ Braun/ Bruno: meaning one having
brown hair. |
| 5-Emblems
& Icons |
EX-
Wolf/ deWolff: meaning - the
Wolf. |
We often take for granted the names we are given, without
realizing the history behind them. The above examples
may give you insight into the name your father and forefathers
passed on to you, an often overlooked but very important
way they contributed to who you are.
Sit down with your family this Father's Day, and begin to
trace the roots of your family name and you might come
up with interesting results.
Happy Father's Day!

| What's The Scoop On Cookie Dough Fundraisers? |
| |
|
Cookie dough fundraising is becoming very popular with many fundraising
groups today. It's no surprise! The taste of freshly baked cookies is
sure to get anyone's mouth watering, since they are as easy to sell as
they are to eat! It's so easy to understand cookie dough fundraising’s
popularity!
How Cookie Dough Fundraising Works
Using order-taker brochures, your group members allow your
supporters to choose from a selection of mouth watering
flavors, some of which include Chocolate Chunk, M&M's,
Peanut Butter, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Reese's Pieces,
Hershey's Kisses and White Chocolate Macadamia.
Once all orders are taken and the money has been collected,
the order forms are tallied and the cookie dough is ordered
with your fundraising company. About two weeks later,
your cookie dough is delivered for you to distribute to
your buyers. The dough is usually packed in 3 lb tubs.
Because most cookie dough comes frozen some planning with
your fundraising company is needed for delivery day. However,
some of the newest cookie dough requires no refrigeration
and will keep for many months.
No Money Up Front
Since cookie dough fundraising is an order taker fundraiser, you
can fundraise without putting any money up-front. This is great
if you are low on cash to begin with. Most tubs sell for $10 and
expect to make between 35% - 55% profit depending on how much
your group sells. Make sure to choose a fundraising company that
provides free shipping since 3 lb tubs can add up fast. A group
size of 20 and larger is recommended, but any group can raise
anywhere from $1,000 - $10,000 and more if they are motivated
and focused.

| Softball Team Pitches To The Profit Of $4,774
|
| |
| For a second year in a row, cookie dough satisfies
another fundraising group! The Stuttgart Girls Softball Team raised a
profit of $4,774 helping them buy more to add to last year's purchase of
2 pitching machines. 176 girls on a team between the ages of 6-14 years
old from Stuttgart, Arkansas helped make this possible. Team leader, Hannah
Maier states, "With this years' profits, we were able to buy new helmets,
bats, balls and other equipment. "The profit earned came from repeat donations
on a second year campaign for one of our new fundraising products; Emma
Lou's mouth-watering cookie dough. With such a successful campaign, Hannah
Maier plans to use cookie dough again for her next fundraiser.

Dad's Occupational Hazard
Two small boys, not yet old enough to be in school, were
overheard talking at the zoo one day.
"My name is Billy. What's yours?" asks the first boy.
"Tommy," replies the second.
"My Daddy's an accountant. What does your Daddy do for a
living?" asks Billy.
Tommy replies, "My Daddy's a lawyer.""Honest?" asks Billy.
"No, just the regular kind", replied Tommy.
