Online Shopping Tips & 20 Gift Ideas Under $10

Online Shopping Tips:
- Know who you're dealing with. Confirm the online seller's
physical address and phone number so you can contact them if you have questions or
problems
- Know exactly what you're buying. Read the seller's description of the
product closely, especially the fine print. Words
like "refurbished," "vintage," "closeout," "discontinued," or "off-brand" may
indicate that a product is in less-than-mint condition.
- Comparison-shop. You
may want to check out Web sites that offer price comparisons on similar items from
different manufacturers or different Web sites.
- Check the privacy policy. The
company's privacy policy should let you know what personal information the company
is collecting, why, and how the information is going to be used.
- Pay with a
credit card. It offers you the most protection as a consumer. Don't send cash.6.
Use a secure browser. Look for an unbroken key or padlock at the bottom of your Web
browser window to ensure that your transmission is protected.
- Consider shipping
and handling costs. Factor these into the cost of the order, and choose the
delivery option that best meets your needs and budget.
- Print records of your
online transactions. Print and save the product description and price, the online
receipt, and copies of every email you send or receive from the seller.
- Understand the return policy before you buy. Can you return the item for a full
refund if you're not satisfied with it? If you return it, are you required to pay
shipping costs or a restocking fee?
- Check delivery dates. Sellers must ship
within 30 days after the order date when no specific date is promised. If the
vendor can't ship the goods within the promised or 30-day deadline, it must
notify you, give you a chance to cancel your order, and provide a full refund
if you've chosen to cancel. Sellers also has the option of canceling your order
and refunding your money.

Fundraising: 10 Delivery Day Strategies You Need To Know

Delivery day is a critical point in assuring a successful
fundraising drive, particularly when frozen food items are involved.
Here are 10 strategies that will help make your delivery day run smoothly:
Good For All Products
- Groups should carefully choose delivery times and communicate to the parents to
be sure the product is picked-up
- Send reminder letters two to three days in
advance of the delivery with specific dates and times for product pick-up. And
then again the day before and the day of delivery.
- Stress the importance of
being on time, allowing no more than a four to five hour window for final pick-up.
- Have a few volunteers on hand to help out with sorting
- When your delivery
arrives, count your items before signing the driver's way bill. Use your original
order form to count and identify if any items are missing. Report any missing items
with your fundraising company a soon as possible ( best within 24hrs ).
- To quickly contact no-shows, have on hand the phone numbers of all parents
scheduled to pick-up product.
For Frozen Foods (Cookie dough for example)
- Select the coldest location available (out of direct sunlight and heat) as
the point of distribution.
- If dry ice is used in the shipping process, it requires extreme caution
and should be handled only by experienced carriers.
- Have a plan in place for short-term freezer storage for products that are
not picked-up. (Most school cafeterias will provide temporary freezer space.
Local supermarkets may also be willing to provide short-term assistance.)
- As orders are picked-up, remind parents to put the products in the fridge
or freezer as soon as possible. It may be a good idea to include a written
reminder with every order.
